Week of YES Update & Some Exciting News!

If you read yesterday's post, you know that right now I am in the midst of my Week of Yes! Just a refresher: this means that I am spending the week saying "yes" to all sorts of things that come my way: invitations, opportunities, my own insane to-do list, and collaborations with awesome creatives. For the record, since I started this experiment, this Liz Lemonism is all I can think about:

This week has gotten off to a killer start. I think all of the downtime I had in my Week of No really got me amped up to make things happen this week. It's almost 8 PM, and I have hardly stopped to breathe since I began my day at 8 AM (okay, I ate two meals and used the bathroom, but you get the idea...don't be gross).

The to-do list I created is extensive, but I really wanted it to be something that would challenge me. It includes items such as comment on 100 blogs, send 50 emails to potential sponsors, and right every wrong in all humankind. These are tall orders, but I think I'm up for it.

When I was making it, my husband asked me what would happen if I didn't complete my list, and I said that it wouldn't be a problem because I will complete it, and he said, "Yeah, but say you don't. What then?" and I relented and said that I would move to the woods. So basically, it's a finish-this-list-or-move-to-the-woods type of situation.

That being said, there are some things happening this week on this here blog that I would like to bring to your attention. Ehem...

1. I've updated my Sponsor Page!

If you are a blogger/writer/some kind of creative freelancey type person, you are going to want to check out the updates I've made to my sponsor page! Like, seriously, it's more than just that pretty picture I made of me standing in front of a mural of kitties.

I've made some changes to my sponsor options, and I also ADDED a consultation option! If you're on the fence about sponsoring, know this: in my blogging journey, my biggest moments of growth have come whenever I've collaborated with other likeminded creatives. Blog sponsorship is a great way to broaden your audience and get your name/face/wonderful words out there. So let's work together!

2. For this week only, sponsor spots are on mega sale!

Go scoop one up, and make sure to enter the code "SHESAIDYES" at checkout!

3. A linkup is coming!

I received a few very sweet messages today from folks who are excited by the idea of A Week of No | A Week of Yes. Thanks for that, guys, and trust me, it gives me great relief to know that I am not the only one who could use a refresher on what it means to set boundaries.

Since it seems to be striking a chord with some of us, why don't we all share our experiences? When I'm done with my Week of Yes, I'll create a post debriefing some of my thoughts, and at the end of that, I'll include a place for you to linkup a post of your own. Here's what you'll need to do:

Option 1: Start the experiment for yourself this week (you can join me in living in the spirit of YES or you can have a NO Week instead), and write about your experience after the fact
Option 2: Simply write a post detailing a time in life when you said "yes" or "no" to something significant.

I'll post the linkup next Tuesday, so in the meantime, start prepping your posts!

Besides all of that, stay tuned for more posts this week, ones that are slightly less self-promotional than this one was.

And hey, just a quick reminder for those of you who are thinking about making this a Week of Yes or for those of you who just go-go-go all day long regardless because you're awesome: don't forget to stop. For me, I've decided to be incredibly intentional this week to devoting 30 minutes of each day to reading/meditating on Scripture. It's a critical part of my day. Doing this reminds me that my strivings are not all about myself and that there is something bigger and better about my life than any stress that might come my way.

That being said, how do you slow down when things are crazy?

Oh and P.S. Don't be afraid to reach out to me in the midst of my Week of Yes! I need more things to say "yes" to anyway. Seriously, try me.
